Ample grasslands, low-stocking densities, and nearly nonexistent disease pressure has made organic methods the default approach of Falkland’s ranchers. In the Falklands, there is no need for sheep dipping, where the animals are literally bathed in potent parasiticides, nor is it necessary to carry out the controversial practice of mulesing to avoid the fly (and maggot) infestations which are a huge problem in warmer climates. Animal welfare groups are actively campaigning against mulesing and neither practice is permitted under organic standards.
The Falkland Islands Merino wool is currently only available in ecru, or natural white. I can knit to order in many other colours which are also non-mulesed though not organic so please don't hesitate to send a custom request.
Knitted from super soft unspun roving this is a luxury item which deserves loving care. Roving blankets will shed a little due to their unspun nature.
Professional Dry Clean only.
On this item UK dispatch is Royal Mail Confirmed and International is Royal Mail Tracked and Signed.
