£28.00

Sock Blank DK wool super wash. Knitted with 2 strands of 100% Merino Wool Superwash DK / light worsted knitting yarn. Hand dyed in my home studio using a hand painting technique whereby the undyed skein is loosely knitted into a ‘blank’ to offer effects that cannot be achieved when dyed in the skein.

This sock blank is 2 x 100g skeins knitted into a 200g double thread blank. This method enables you to knit two identical pieces, one from each thread.

This item is ready to ship. You will receive the knitted blank in the photograph.

DK / DOUBLE KNIT – US Light Worsted
100 gram skeins, 100 gm blank or 200 gm double thread blank.
210 metres / 229 yards per 100 grams.
Count: 6 x 2/25nm

Machine washable on wool cycle at 30 degrees.

nb. To use a knitting blank remove the thread that is woven through the last row. This needs to be the last row rather than the first or the blank will not unravel properly on the end stitches. If you start at the wrong end it will be quickly evident, no harm done, just start again at the other end!

Knitting from a blank is like knitting with any unravelled yarn resulting in a kinked yarn and kinked stitch. This will block or steam out of your project so don’t be alarmed! If you prefer you can unravel to a skein and warm soak for an hour to straighten the yarn.
